Living on "New Math"

I wanted to hang the last President when they purposed TARP at a tune on $700 Billion. Veins popped out on my forehead when congress kicked it up over $800 Billion with added pork to buy votes. I won't even describe the physical reaction I had when they passed the $789 Billion 'Porkzilla." You might be eating while reading this and I don't want to cause you to throw up. At that point I really lost track.

The numbers are racking up faster than I can keep up with, so I just resigned my self to hunkering down and watching the economic disaster, beyond the one we now have, that is heading our way. I'm just going to try and keep my family ok, while the rest of the country goes to hell in a hand basket. That's about all I can do.

Raise a bigger garden, arrange our fiances so that we can make it on my wife's income in case I lose my job. I work in a factory, she is a nurse, so I'm betting that her job is the most secure one. Keep increasing my emergency stores while I can and save a little cash if at all possible. Standard survivalist stuff.

Then just as I get my emotional calmness in place. I read this piece. It seams that Obama is going to be financially responsible by reducing the deficit to $533 billion in four years. Excuse me, wasn't the deficit smaller than that before we decide to subsidize failure, banks, automakers, and irresponsible home buyers. I'm sure that list will grow as others step up to the trough.

You just got to love that "New Math" they are using. I'll make things better by reducing the rate that I increase the debt.
